Low-emissions biofuels from biomass
Project phases and objectives
In order to carry it out, two waste recovery processes are being analyzed: pyrolysis and hydrothermal liquefaction and the integration of their products into different conventional refining processes.
The project will include a life cycle analysis of the different products obtained, techno-economic evaluations of the alternatives and, finally, tests will be conducted in pilot plants to assess the technical risks of the different scenarios studied.

Biofuel production routes from biomass conversion technologies: hydrothermal liquefaction and rapid pyrolysis.
Process integration
Study the integration of the products obtained from reusing biomass in existing refinery processes.
Solving challenges
Developing technological solutions to respond to major social and environmental challenges.
