Main projects
Algeria is a country that produces fossil fuels. It has the 14th largest oil reserves in the world, in addition to one of the largest natural gas reserves. It is located in the north of the African continent. It has the Mediterranean Sea on its north coast and shares a border with Tunisia and Libya to the east, Niger and Mali to the south, Mauritania to the southeast, and Western Sahara and Morocco to the west.
Repsol and Total reached an agreement with the Algerian state oil company Sonatrach to extend the license for the gas and condensate field Tin Fouye Tabankort (TFT) in the Illizi basin for a further 25 years.
We have been present in Algeria since 1973 with various upstream projects. In addition, we have a permanent office in the capital Algiers, where we support the business and strengthen links with the country’s institutions.
